Why you should Relax and Reward yourself

It's not always easy to find the time to relax and reward yourself, but it is important. If you are constantly working on your business (or even if you're just trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle), it can be hard for you to take the necessary time out of your day. This article will give you some helpful tips on how to create a routine that allows plenty of downtime and self-care.

-Be careful not to work too many hours. If you find yourself working for more than eight or nine hours a day, then it may be time to implement some self-care into your routine. Give yourself at least one hour in the evening to decompress and disconnect from all electronic devices before bedtime. This will provide you with an opportunity to think about your day and plan for the next.

-Go outside! Make sure that you leave your work at least once every two days so that you can spend time outdoors. This will allow you to get some fresh air, reduce stress levels, and help with mental clarity. If it's not possible for you to take a break from work, you could always use a desktop-based app like Forest to remind yourself (on your computer) that it's time for some fresh air.

-Start taking weekends off! If you can't take the day off of work in order to relax on Saturdays and Sundays, then make sure that at least one of those days does not involve any work. If you are able to take a day off, then it's important that you avoid any work-related tasks on Saturdays and Sundays as well.

-Reward yourself! Do something nice for yourself every so often in order to keep your mood up. This could be anything from getting lunch with friends or taking an hour out of the evening to read a good book.
